ABOUT
Laszlo van Leeuwen is Earth bearing witness to the arrival of a divine lion.
Born in the Netherlands and raised across more than twenty countries throughout Africa, Europe, and Asia, Laszlo is a recording artist and music producer whose sound blends hip hop, reggae, house, afrobeats, jazz, amapiano, and global rhythms into a powerful, genre-crossing expression of rhythm, philosophy, and storytelling.
Once half-jokingly described as “the spiritually awakened offspring of Eminem and Burna Boy,” Laszlo’s music reflects a life lived far beyond the ordinary. From winning rap battles as a teenager in Ghana to performing for millions on national television and thousands at iconic venues in Southern Africa, his journey has taken him across continents and cultures.
However, Laszlo’s artistry was forged as much outside of society as within it. Friends call him ‘Jungle Laz’, as for years, he’s lived off-grid in the deep jungles of Peru, Brazil, and Costa Rica, immersing himself in meditation, yoga, shamanic traditions, and the exploration of human consciousness; experiences that now echo through the depth of his words and sound.
Today, based on his self-sustainable farm in South Africa, Laszlo markets his music via live streams and creates new music from The Jungle Bunker, an underground studio where philosophy, rhythm, and raw creative energy converge.
For listeners searching for entertainment with a deeper side, Laszlo offers something rare; rhythm with meaning, energy with intention, and a story still unfolding.
